The New Series Weepy Bits Thread
In the old days, Doctor Who never really tugged at the heartstrings much, but nowadays there's always something to make you a bit misty-eyed... so what's been your favourite weepy bit/s of the new series? And has Doctor Who ever brought a tear to your eye?

Well the obvious answer is the last bit of season two...when Catherine Tate shows up No I mean the bit in Bad Wolf Bay, the final goodbye of the Doctor & Rose.

I always find the bits where he talks about being the last of his kind quite touching.

I agree Larry, I found last night's final scene really very moving, and also the earlier sequence of all the traveller's singing "The Old Rugged Cross".
I don't think season 2 moved me all that much, not even Billie's departure I'm afraid, but season 1 had a few moments (although maybe not actual open weeping). The end of TEOTW, much of Father's Day, and also the sequence in TPOTWays where Rose tells Jackie that the Doctor took her back to meet Pete. Jackie's reaction is so well-played by Camille, even up to her just running away, that it gets to me every time.
Tears of joy, might I add, the night "Rose" aired because by the end of that first episode I knew it was fantastic!! And likewise, when Jackie appears round the corner with that truck!!!

The hologram scene in 'The Parting Of The Ways', the final scene from 'School Reunion', and the Rose's farewell in 'Doomsday', and also most of 'Father's Day' have come closest to moving me to tears. You can now add to that list the 'Old Rugged Cross' sequence from 'Gridlock' - beautiful, just beautiful.

Oh yes, School Reunion!! Not the SJS stuff, but when the Doctor says goodbye to K9, and then when he and Sarah hug over K9's demise, and then when K9 mark 4 appears behind the disappearing TARDIS... for a child of the 70s those were all very emotional moments.

Like Andrew- it's K9 that got me. What a great ending that was, to a great episode. I cried! I creied at Father's Day, the second time round anyway for some reason.

I'm genuinely not a crying kind of person, but I have so many moments in the new series that get me. Probably the ones I could watch over and over are the scene with the Doctor and Rose on opposite sides of the wall (it's the music), and the one in School Reunion where Sarah finds the TARDIS and the way the camera pans round until we see the Doctor, it's just perfectly done.

The last scenes of the Doctor at the end of The Girl In The Fireplace had me bawling like a contestant on 'Any Dream Will Do'.

The closest I came to crying was Parting of the Ways, but for some reason I spent the whole night feeling like I was going to fall to pieces at any moment.
Scooti's death gets me in the heart every time I see it too.
