Well, the Zarbi can't talk, so not much dialogue there - wonder if they'll try to have sound effects to sound them hurrying or crashing about the studio? Or how well they might recreate the Menoptra and Optera speech patterns?

I hope Turlough's in it, then he can dip his Brendon Public School tie into a small pool of acid.

Another subscriber's only story, just like Return of the Daleks.
Big Finish really can drive a man to piracy.

"It's an ancient name. From the dark time..."
It's been hundreds of years and several regenerations since the Doctor last visited the insect world of Vortis. Much has changed during his absence, but not necessarily for the better.
This now green and pleasant land isn't the paradise it first appears. Something malevolent is living out in The Desolation... And the Doctor and Nyssa must solve the mystery before the City of Light is overrun.

That has obviously been done to reflect the original Target cover surely?
I like it. Let's hope I like the story as much & that it's better than The Web Planet.

Davison looks suitably perturbed in his photo there!
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

I believe that's an 'out-take' photo from the early 80s - he was reacting to the sight of Matthew Waterhouse's performance in Time-Flight.

Does it have the annoying car alarm sound all the way through like the original did?

This was quite enjoyable this one! A good follow up to the Web Planet and pleasingly much shorter. The cast were excellent, I thought Sam Kelley was paticularly good as the Menoptra Acheron (I can even remember his name, dammit!) The whole business with his daughter and her wings was quite touching. Best of all was the bit at the end where it looks like the hoards of Zarbi are about to fight... then it all goes a bit Discovery Channel!
A worthwhile bonus and quite a fun little story. Rah!Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

Return To The Web Planet is easily the best of the subsciber freebies, its an affectionate tribute to the original such as a Zarbi named Barbara and there is some great imagery presented such as The Doctor riding a Zarbi. Also the cast give strong performances and the natural world style the story takes on at its conclusion gives it a mini epic quality
