Actually it is me, I just look far younger than I am. I was saying to Hartnell, of the script for Marco Polo (for it was thus) "just make sure they don't chuck this one on the bonfire, eh Bill?". He just smiled and fingered some matches in his pocket. At least I hope they were matches.

Just three weeks after this picture was taken in the autumn of 1966, Hartnell was forced to relinquish the role of TV's Dr.Who, due to injuries sustained from an adolescent knee in the groin.
