Metal Heads/Moshers/Emos/etc
Now, since this lovely forum is run by a metal head, I'm assuming there are others here abouts. As Lestat said, 'come out, come out wherever you are.' What's rocking you at the mo?
For me it's Stone Sour and Disturbed.I am out there... somewhere.

Ant's renounced his metal head status, as he explains in our Meet the Staff page:
He used to consider himself a hardcore heavy metal fan, but would now describe himself as a fan of “music”. His favourite bands are Marillion, Suede and Iron Maiden.

I'm still a metaller to an extent, but I listen to other stuff too these days!
Anyway, metal wise, I have mostly been listening to Iron Maiden's A Matter of Life and Death of late... it's very good!

Well, dude, I'm glad you're listening to other stuff, too. Not like I limit myself to metal, is it? Just don't give up on the metal.
I am out there... somewhere.

as I said in the other thread, i'm listening to Area 54's This is the End of Everything, from their Beckoning of the End album.
IMO, they're the future of British heavy metal!

P.S. I resent metallers and moshers being put in the same category as emos!

I'm sure most do, man. But I didn't want to single anyone out. We all like metal... some of us have better taste than others, though.

I'm still very much into my dinosaur rock, and there's very little in my collection that's not either from before 1990, or from bands that were around before 1990. Typical stuff is Whitesnake pre 87, Zep, Marillion (both versions), KISS.
Of the modern stuff, I'm very partial to NIN and like a bit of Rammstein too.

I am not EMO. Or a Metalhead and I rarely mosh. I just wanted to make that all VERY clear!

I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

No way, Simon! You've ruined my image of you now!
Me I'm a chovsher... that is, an odd mix between a chav and a mosher. God knows how that happened, though. But always loved me metal, but you wouldn't necessarily be able to tell by looking at me.I am out there... somewhere.

I like Motohead's 'Ace of Spades' and Metallica's 'Enter the Sandman'. I also like Aerosmith though how you would classify his music I don't know.

I'm a bit of a new romantic metaler.
I like classical music, and opera so obviously i made the natural progression to metal many years ago. Always a fan of the neo-classical end of the genre but i'm happy to blues it up as well.
And i LOVE progressive metal.

I've got a couple of Disturbed albums somewhere. (I do tend to go mental in clubs to 'Get Down With The Sickness')
I like Rammstein
That is all"All we found in his pockets were knives and lint"

just giving Trivium's The Crusade another chance, following their performance whilst supporting Maiden.
It's got some great tracks - most notably: Detonation, Entrance of the Conflagration, Anthem (We Are The Fire) and To The Rats

Young prats in the library sometimes ask "Are you a mosher?"...
Because I have long hair. I don't have the heart to tell them "No, I like Phil Collins."

I'm a self confessed Mod, and I'm not talking about the forum administration. But I do indulge in a bit of rock of the classic kind. Everyone should own something by Led Zeppelin.
I must admit, just when I think I'm king, I just begin!

currently listening to my "angry" playlist, because one of my "friends" has upset me quite a bit this evening. First few songs of it:
Imperium - Machine Head
We Will Rise - Arch Enemy
I'm Broken - Pantera
Scar Spangled Banner - Exodus
Love? - Strapping Young Lad
Handing Out Bullets - Halford
Falling As One - Rise to Addiction
Hate Me! - Children of Bodom
Burnt Offerings - Iced Earth
designed to get rid of stress through screaming along and headbanging!

Oh dear!
Mind you, i've been known to use Motorhead for the same effect.
Especially with lyrics like:
"Shut the door behind you when you go.
Why you're still here, i really don't know.
I'm gonna count up to three,
and if you're still here then, i'm gonna blow away yer knees!"
