Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

I mean that i'm not gonna be taken in by a pretty box, if the content isn't worth the asking price, for the reasons previously specified.

More info about the "Destiny" CGI:

    Roberts:

It's the normal stuff - rays from Dalek and Movellan guns, a glowing 'stun' effect when the Movellans touch their guns to the Doctor and Romana's heads, enhanced exhuast effects on the Movellan ship landing and in flight, added ray/projectiles fired from Movellan ship and striking the ground and Daleks etc.
    Kelly:

The original Movellan ship has been recomposited with a new 'exhaust' effect, so hopefully it doesn't look too much like video-on-film anymore. It also has a much more realistic motion blur, and hopefully the shot is sold a bit better.

I didn't do anything about the Kaled mutant as I didn't think it needed anything! Looks suitably slimey enough to me...

I would have loved to have added a skeleton to the Dalek negative effect, a la the New Series, and I did consider that for 'Destiny'. What stopped me from doing it is that I would have had to create 'robot-insides' for the occasions when Movellans get shot... and if I had done that, the revelation that they were robots would have happened an episode too early! So, in the end, I just tried to make the negative effect a bit more spectacular.

Perhaps I'll get the chance to do this effect on a future Dalek DVD...?

So that's Day, Death or Planet then?

Or "The Chase", which he's confirmed he'd like to try it on!!!!

    It'd just be wrong!

But in that case, he'd have the same problem with showing the innards of Dracula, Frankenstein's monster or the Grey Lady.

Good point! I've made it on the RT forum, pretending it's my own.

The Dalek's "Lazer" guns don't get used in "Death" do they and they don't work so they can't do it in that one. "Day" would be perfect but there's only two occasions where the guns get used and the whole picture goes negative rather than just the person though that might not matter much.

That's rather likeable, although the Daleks don't look quite right.

Hmm I'm not so sure they do- the round bits at the top under the domes are too wide!

It's too cluttered! I suppose they felt obliged to bung Davros in (since it's forming part of the Davros boxset) but it would probably work better without him - at the risk of sounding like Andrew Cartmel, the Doctor ought to be the hero of his own DVD covers! There he's just squeezed into a corner as an afterthought.

On the plus side, it's the best Dalek story ever produced, so I can always close my eyes when I look at the box.

You can see it a little more clearly here.

Is it artwork? It looks a bit like artwork. I like it myself - it's not the best cover I've seen, but somehow, I don't know how, it manages to capture the spirit of the story.

The red sky is a bit of dramatic license but apart from that I like it. It's tacky and colourful but so is the story.

Personally I reckon it's a bloody wonderful cover!

    The story's still rubbish, mind.

not sure what to make of the Destiny, cover some how it looks just a bit on the cartoonish side.

I think that the cover is one of the best! It's really grown on me.
