Very unusually quiet reaction to this news, I take it many people are avoiding spoilers?

No, it just isn't very interesting. I don't know why but this just isn't really fascinating for me.

I know what you mean, untill I see the coming soon trailer at the end of the Christmas Special, I can't really get that excited either.

I just wasn't really too excited I'm afraid. The Sontarans have never really excited me, I would have preferred the Ice Warriors.

It'll be interesting to see how they redesign them though, especially after the Judoon looked so similar to them last year.

Didn't Christopher Ryan play one of the Driscoll Brothers? And twin builders in One Foot In The Grave?

    That's the one.

    You contrary little monkey!

This is all a surprise. Why have they cast an actor renound for being comically small? I can only assume these Sontarans will be small but squat, and they'll shove him in a fat suit.

This news has raped my "Invasion of Time" lovin' youth!

I'd have rather had the Sea Devils back. I'm assuming I haven't already missed the Sun Exclusive "Sea Devils to return" story?

I've never got the love for the Ice Warriors. I always thought they were crap! Although a new series redesign would be interesting.

The Sontarans on the other hand were always a great monster, despite getting progressively worse each time they re-appeared!

just as long as we don't get any more Sontarons who sound like Bob Hoskins, I don't mind them coming back.

    Casting news for episode one:

Sarah Lancashire will feature in the first episode of Doctor Who Series Four alongside David Tennant and new companion Catherine Tate. The ex-Coronation Street actress will play Miss Foster, described as an "enigmatic and powerful businesswoman". She told the Press Association: "I'm absolutely thrilled to be in Doctor Who. It's a brilliant episode and I'm looking forward to taking the Time Lord on."
    Great actress, great news!

Are we certain that Mr Ryan is donning a suit to play a Sontaran? I mean it could be CGI, or animatronic with his voice. Or else it might be shorty. Who can say?

My side was definately the loudest.

Never mind the Currant Bun, it was reported on BBCi 11 days ago, as you can see here.
