Sarah Jane Adventures: Begins 24th September 5pm
We got the new Doctor Who Adventures today and they have a tiny interview with Ms Sladen herself.
She says: "I absolutely adore playing Sarah Jane. I had such a fantastic goodbye in School Reunion. In the special [to be shown on New Years Day] and the series next year she's a bit older. Everything's gone a step further and the series has given her more scope into what she can do"
So New Years Day! Hooray!

I definitely heard a rumour of New Years Day a little while back - seems a good slot to me. What a week that's going to be - from Runaway Bride to Sarah Jane!

10:30am on Five.
I'd exepct it to be on round about 5pm on BBC1. That's where they usually stick the CBBC drama stuff at Christmas/New Year.
But it'll be too childish. Doctor Who fans will hate it!
Forget about Sarah Jane Adventures... I want to know all about the free calender in Doctor Who Adventures. I look forward to Mr. Hart resurrecting the Doctor Who Adventures thread.

I am really looking foreward to the SJS series, but I am hacked off that I will be away watching the England cricket team getting thrashed over Christmas and the New Year, missing all the new Who stuff!!!!
One Day, I shall come back, Yes, I shall come back,
Until them, there must be no regrets, no tears, no anxieties, Just go forward in all your beliefs,
and prove to me that I am not mistaken in mine!

The Sarah Jane Adventures
Children's BBC ONE
Elisabeth Sladen Doctor Who's former sidekick is back as Sarah Jane Smith in a brand-new, fast-paced children's drama, created by Russell T Davies and from the makers of Doctor Who. The Sarah Jane Adventures ensures that children never look at fizzy drinks in the same way again...
Sarah Jane is fascinated by Bubbleshock, a strangely addictive organic drink that is taking the world by storm. She is almost oblivious to the arrival of her new neighbour, Maria, a young girl starting a new life with her father.
Maria becomes intrigued by the strange goings on at Sarah Jane's house but, before she can investigate, she's whisked away by her new friend, Kelsey, to the brightly coloured, but sinister, Bubbleshock factory.
As Sarah Jane tries to find out what the mysterious Mrs Wormwood is doing at the factory, Maria and Kelsey embark on a tour which leads them into the path of a monstrous creature and a strange young boy with no name or past.
When Sarah Jane and Maria discover the secret ingredient of Bubbleshock, they realise they are the only ones who can stop Mrs Wormwood and her evil plans for the human race.
Maria is played by Yasmin Page, Kelsey by Porsha Lawrence Mavour, Mrs Wormwood by Samantha Bond and the young boy/Luke by Thomas Knight.

I swear I posted this before but may be I imagined it.
It was mentioned in Cardiff that the S.J.S adventures would be on on New Years Day, sometime in the early evening. So that's anywhere between 4:30 & 7:30 then.

It's Liz and The Sladenettes.
Hey Paul, it's a kid's show so they're bound to have kids on it... although they seem to be dressed pretty awfully to me. Dungaree skirt with red tights and a lumberjack top?Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

According to TV Zone she's going to be based in a big Victorian House which has lots of mementos and photos of her old friends from her Doctor Who days, which sounds intriguing!
The series is due to film from Jan 07... 10 episodes long.

I know that it's clearly aimed squarely at kids, and it'll probably be very silly and childish... but I'm quite looking forward to this!
Mind you, Torchwood is supposedly aimed squarely at adults, so maybe I'm wrong and SJS won't be that silly & childish after all...

Murray Gold has written the theme and the incidental music will be written by Sam Watts who has been scoring the Planet Earth Diaries.

Still, there'll be no need for you to get a remote control K-9 for Christmas now. Seeing as he's not going to be appearing on TV again. And it means we won't have to watch SJSA.Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

He's in the pilot, so I'm afarid your reasoning is unsound.

I'm really trying to care about this series, however after the disappointing Torchwood I'm not convinced.
What concerns me most if who this is aimed at - while most of the old fans love Sarah Jane and would enjoy a series about her, what of the children who this is aimed at? To be honest I would think as far as the intended audience are concerned the star of School Reunion was a certain tin dog, and there was some old companion in it as well.
I wonder just how many children are going to get excited over the adventures of a mid-50's woman and her team of crimes-solving teenagers, and how many tune in hoping to see Sarah and K9, only to be disappointed that K9 will only be in the pilot? To new fans, what makes Sarah more special than Reinette, or Chloe Webber?
While I know that K9 was only ever with Sarah in K9 and Company and The Five Doctors (for 30 seconds) thanks to School Reunion plenty of new viewers are going to think they were always together - the Blue Peter promotional stuff only reinforcing it by showing Sladen with K9.Your people? Your people??? They are MY people now!

I'll give the first episode a chance, but I'm very sceptical about it
I agree with most of what Mr Culley said!
