Another Side of John Barrowman
NB - sorry if this is old news, but I couldn't find another thread on it!
The man with fingers in more pies than Mr.Kipling has found another avenue to put himself over to the general public:
Another Side is a collection of songs that John has long admired and wanted to reinterpret in his own distinctive way. Across a number of musical genres, but predominantly sumptuous, streamlined pop, he lends his rich vocals to, amongst others, Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time", Elton John's "Your Song", and Chicago's "If You Leave Me Now". His rendition of Billy Joel's "She's Always A Woman To Me" is velvet and sensuous, as is his heartfelt interpretation of "All Out of Love" .

1.All Out Of Love
2.You're So Vain
3.She's Always A Woman

He was on Strictly Come Dancing: Take Two a moment ago, singing The Police's 'Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic'. Ouch.

I saw him singing on Children In Need, and was blown away with just how very good he was. He really has a great voice, and let's face it after the Transformed Man, the Ballard of Bilbo Baggins, or Old Yellow Eyes Is Back, this is at least going to be a professional effort.
That said, how much makeup is he wearing on that album cover? Is he going all New Romantic on us?

He is a great singer but I felt he over egged the omlette on Children In Need. It was very show offy which I suppose is fine but it wasn't really suited to that song.
The album's done really well though. I'm more interested in his autobiography which drops next year.

Now I have a big problem with autobiographies. To me they are something which should be written by people towards the end of their careers, not smack bang in the middle of it.
The trend for people to write them whilst still in their 20s seems ridiculous - I mean Jordan's already on Volume 2 of hers.

I'd be interested in his panties dropping.

I'm a fan of John's earlier work. I saw him years ago in the West End in Sunset Boulevard, and was blown away by his voice. In all honesty, I am disappointed by his latest album. It sounds very nice but I feel he is holding back vocally. I have his previous albums which I love more. If you can track down John singing "Why God Why" you will see what I mean.

And lots of Cher I taste in my mouth:
GAY Doctor Who star John Barrowman has revealed diva Cher once grabbed him for a SNOG.
John, 40, met Cher, 61, at a party in Los Angeles years ago – and she lunged at him.
He said: “If Cher is going to kiss you, you’re going to kiss her properly – if you’re gay, straight or whatever!”

Sort of related:
I might get this, I bet it's fun listening to Barrowman talk non-stop for over two hours. It's also coincidentally the same duration as a train journey from Manchester to London.

I've just read the book and enjoyed that so I'm sure him reading it is a worthy venture.

Who's Carole E. Barrowman? And why is she "E"? Is it to stop us getting confused by that other celebrity audio book producer Carole Barrowman?
Si.

There's a lot of them about, I imagine. This one is, apparently, his older sister:

Apparently it's 1/3 pop, 1/3 musical theatre and 1/3 country. He's touring next year too.
