Dr Who UKGold recordings up for grabs!
I've started to go through all my VHS cassettes, cherry picking the rare, interesting and valuable bits & transferring them to DVD before junking the tapes. So, before they go to the great rubbish tip in the sky, I though I'd offer them up here. Here's what's in the first batch... if red, it's spoken for.

I've already got them all....
from 1995/96/97/98/99/2000*
* dish was realigned in Summer 1996, so I recorded them all again with virtually no sparklies.

I'd quite like the Mind Robber one
Up til now I've been making do with the one I taped off BBC2 in about 1992, but I missed the first minute or two of episode 1 and then the transmitter went weird towards the end of it... which is a shame because it's one of my favourite episodes ever.

Why don't you buy it on DVD if it's one of your favourites?

well.
a) I didn't know it was out on DVD
b) I have MOST of it, and can't justify the expense (which it is to me)
c) I don't like most of the fiddling the "restoration" team get up to and they're bound to have done something that would annoy me.

Well, the picture quality is obviously much better on the DVD than it is on the off-air recording, but if you want it then it's yours. Do you mind waiting till after Christmas though? I think the standard parcels deadline was today...

I've waited 15 years so I think it'll be okay

It's £7.89p on Sendit.com so once you account for the postage in getting a video to you, you're talking little more than a fiver more.
I do find it odd that digital picture cleanup would annoy you, but a fuzzy off-air version with on-screen logo and edited credits wouldn't.

Nostalgia's a powerful thing.

I see it now, this was all just a cunning ploy to lure out the skinflints for ridicule

Never? For shame, Mr Masters, for shame.
I hope you enjoy it, anyway. It was made on location in Wales, you know. Imagine that, Doctor Who being made in Wales - crazy!

At the risk of appearing greedy, I'd also like The Sea Devils / The Mutants / The Time Monster / The Three Doctors and State of Decay / Warrior's Gate / Daleks Invasion Earth 2150AD if that's OK.

At the risk of putting words in to Pip's mouth, I'm sure he doesn't mind if you are 'greedy', so long as he gets rid of the tapes & they go to a good home.
-

Oh, they'll certainly be going to a good home - the contents of them will be living on nice shiny discs!

Been through a load more whilst convalesing in bed today... some of them are already on DVD so I don't expect those ones to go anywhere except the bin, but they're here for my own completist purposes:
The Keys of Marinus / The Aztecs
(SP E240, UKGold omnibuses, broadcast 2nd and 9th July 1998)
The Sensorites
(SP E180, UKGold omnibus, broadcast 16th July 1998)
The Dalek Invasion of Earth
(SP E180, UKGold omnibus, broadcast 30th July 1998)
includes the original broadcast of Curse of Fatal Death
The Web Planet / The Space Museum
(SP E240, UK Gold omnibus, broadcast August 1998)
The Ark / The Gunfighters
(SP E180, UKGold omnibuses, broadcast circa September/October 1998)
The Seeds of Death (episodes 4-6) / The War Games (episodes 1-5)
(SP E180, UKGold omnibuses, broadcast late 1998)
The Seeds of Death
(SP E180, UKGold omnibus, broadcast 17th December 1999, 12.25-2.55am)
Spearhead from Space / Dr Who And The Silurians (episodes 1-3)
(SP E180, BBC2 episodic repeats, 16 November - 21 Dec 1999)
The Ambassadors of Death (6-7) / Inferno / Terror of the Autons / The Mind of Evil / The Claws of Axos (1-2)
(LP E240, UKGold omnibuses)
The Time Warrior / Invasion of the Dinosaurs
(SP E240, UKGold omnibuses, broadcast 31 Dec 2000 & 7 Jan 2001)
Death to the Daleks
(SP E240, UKGold omnibus, broadcast 14 Jan 2001)
rest of the tape is filled with episodes of Vic Reeves Examines from UKPlay
The Ribos Operation / The Pirate Planet
(SP E180, UKGold omnibus, broadcast circa 1999)
The Androids of Tara / The Power of Kroll / More Than 30 Years In The TARDIS / The Robots of Death (episodes 1-3)
(LP E180, UKGold omnibuses)
includes Sladen/Courtney intro to 'More Than 30 Years'
The Keeper of Traken / Logopolis / Castrovalva / Four To Doomsday
(LP E180, UKGold, broadcast December 1997)
nostalgic tape this one, it includes adverts for Destiny of the Doctors CD-ROM and a Tom Baker-voiced Royal Doulton advert... also has lots of sparkles from those pre-analogue days
Enlightenment / The Five Doctors
(SP E180, UKGold omnibuses)
Vengeance on Varos / The Mark of the Rani
(SP E180, UKGold omnibuses, broadcast 26 March & 2 April 2000)

Here I go again!
If possible I’d like:
The Keys of Marinus / The Aztecs (because I don’t have TKOM)
The Web Planet / The Space Museum (because I don’t have TSM)
The Ark/The Gunfighters (because I don't have The Ark)
The Ambassadors of Death (6-7) / Inferno / Terror of the Autons / The Mind of Evil / The Claws of Axos (1-2) (because I don’t have TMOE)
The Keeper of Traken / Logopolis / Castrovalva / Four To Doomsday (Because I don’t have FTD)
Enlightenment / The Five Doctors (because I don’t have Enlightenment – and I mean the story rather than divine inspiration!)
I know I’m jumping in here quickly again but this is really helping in my quest to complete my collection!
