Georgia Moffett to be new companion?
Is there likely to be any truth in this? What would we think?
Former Doctor Who star Peter Davison's daughter Georgia Moffett is reportedly in the running to play the Time Lord's new companion.
Moffet's casting for a key part in the upcoming fourth season was announced in December, but the Daily Star claims that she may become a regular in the Tardis for the fifth season in 2010
However, according to the report she will have to fend off a challenge from 23-year-old actress Felicity Jones for the coveted companion role. Jones, who will also feature in the next season of Doctor Who in an episode revolving around Agatha Christie, is best known for her parts in The Worst Witch and Cape Wrath, alongside her role as Emma Grundy in long-running radio soap The Archers.
"Several names are in the frame," a source told the tabloid, "but Georgia and Felicity are currently on top of the shortlist - both have their merits."

I reckon this story is as reliable as Imagen Bickford- Smith for new comapanion after Underworld. Gets her some nice publicity, doesn't it?

I'd only seen her briefly in that sitcom she did with her Father, so had to do a bit of google image searching to refresh my memory.
And being a shallow, shallow man, she's got my vote already.
Edit: I've changed my mind after remembering who Felicity Jones is.

I'm sure she'd get Dave Tudor's vote as well.

Well, you know who I'm still holding out for.
Seriously, though, it's a shame that they're talking about another new companion,as it just undermines Freema Agyeman's contribution to the series. I know she's coming back, but already it's as if she's not being given a chance. Maybe she might not continue after the next series, but I for one would like to see her in 'Doctor Who' for a while to come yet.
Anyway, as Si said, I don't think this can be counted a very reliable story - let's face it, for non-stories, the Star is the one paper which is worse than the Sun!!

I only know two things about Georgia Moffett - she was in "Red Dawn" and she mentioned in an interview that she hates thongs. It's not much to base a judgement on but it makes me doubt her.
Dennis, Francois, Melba and Smasher are competing to see who can wine and dine Lola Whitecastle and win the contract to write her memoirs. Can Dennis learn how to be charming? Can Francois concentrate on anything else when food is on the table? Will Smasher keep his temper under control?
If only the 28th century didn't keep popping up to get in Dennis's way...

Look, we're supposed to have Donna, Martha, Rose, Sarah Jane and Jack coming back this season, never mind who's going to be in the specials next year. 1. We have more than enough companions to be getting on with for the time being, 2. It's too soon to be looking that far ahead. Can't the Star worry about this sort of thing nearer the time, or are they just that desperate for a filler?

It was deliberate. I was trying to emphasise how awesme thongs are in their awesomeness. I have no idea who/what Tulu might be though. Is he/she/it awesome?
