The BRIT Awards 2008
Anyone give a toss?
Ditto and Mika both need a good c*ck punching.
The Osbournes should be gassed.
The organisers should be shot for crimes against music. Even Uncle Tom can't save it!

Adele winning a BRIT award three weeks into her chart career is just absolutely ludicrous.

20th Feb 2008, 11:20 PM #8I would've expected the Sugababes' Aboot You Knoo to have got a nomination.
We watched the first 40 minutes or so of the the show and it was as you'd expect really. I thought Mrs O and her family did quite well compared to the horrors of yesteryear and the Davina McCall era. Era?
Kylie is turning in to Belinda Giblin.

As long as she doesn't turn into the Pat Butcher wannabe.
I'm not pleased with the bloke from the Klaxons...
Bloody Jarvis wannabe.

Oh music snobbery at its finest! Why, pray, isn't Kylie, Rhianna etc. "music"? I'm not saying the show was full of my favourites by any stretch, but c'mon!

Eh??! Why are Mark Ronson, Take That, Foo Fighters,Arctic Monkeys and Paul McCartney not 'real music'? Also what about nominees like Bjork, PJ Harvey, KT Tunstall, Kings of leon and Muse?!
I'm assuming you're taking the piss? I hope so, as you're a professional musician and it's a bit of a downer to hear such a philistine type attitude from you!
So presuming you meant it, what do you actually think of as 'proper music'? I'm not being a bitch here you know- I'm genuinely interested!

Some news reports:
More than 6m viewers watched the Brit Awards on ITV1 last night - up 800,000 on last year.
The ceremony from 8-10pm attracted an audience of 6.1m, or a 24% share, according to early viewing figures, to lead the night by some way.Vic Reeves was upset by Sharon Osbourne's accusations that he was drunk at last night's Brit Awards. Osbourne, who hosted the ceremony with husband Ozzy, told Reeves to "p**s off you p****ed bastard" after he stumbled over his words while presenting the Best British Album gong. The X Factor star then tried to wrestle Reeves from the stage and announced the winners herself.
According to Teletext's Planet Sound, Reeves was not drunk and didn't smell of alcohol when he came offstage. DJ Jo Whiley told Metro: "Vic was really hurt by Sharon."Organisers contemplated pulling Amy Winehouse's performance at last night's Brits after she fell over during rehearsals. Winehouse performed 'Valerie' with Mark Ronson and her solo single 'Love Is A Losing Game' at the ceremony, but officials had been concerned she might embarrass herself.
A source told The Mirror: "Amy was atrocious in the final rehearsals, she kept falling over. She had had a couple of large drinks before she went on stage and she seemed out of it. At that stage we were seriously considering pulling her out of the show. We had a meeting with her record company in the afternoon, and whatever they did seemed to do the trick. But we had made plans in case Amy's voice didn't hold up on the night."

*spoilered for extremely bad language.
Sharon Osbourne is right C*nt if you me. Even that dim bastard Ozzy is preferable to that wretched spawn of a jackal.

Question for everyone on this forum
After all this time do you really expect The Brit Awards to have any sort of credibility or integrity? Even in the past when an act you like won you must have thought "They got it right for once" so that's your true faith in the Brit Awards there.
How touching that Sir Paul McCartney should want to show solidarity with his single legged soon to be single Mum ex by shooting himself in the foot by starting off with "Dance Tonight"?

I'm sure Heather won't be living the life of your average "single Mum" Dino Cloud. You make it sound like she'll be struggling to get a push chair through the door of her local post office next week.
Vic Reeves is upset? Oh, poor diddums. Anyone who saw him p*ssed up and violently aggressive on the "I'm A Celebrity" behind the scenes program a few years ago will know how ironic this is. Nasty man.
