    That's a shame. He was a good actor & I always thought he made the most of the roles he got. It was a good age.

    At least he had a good innings.
    He was never a particular favourite actor of mine, i thought he was a bit limited, though he had his moments, but this is not the thread to discuss that i guess.

    I love those clashes he has with Michael Caine in "The Swarm" - not the best acting ever but a bit of fun!

    one of my mum's favourite actors, I wouldn't say he was one of the Hollywood greats but he's still a very good and IMO much under rated actor.
    Sadly there are now very few of that golden period of Hollywood during the 1940's/1950's that are still alive.

    I've ordered a copy of "The Bedford Incident" - I haven't seen it for years but I really enjoyed it last time so I wanted to check it out again - the interaction between him and Sidney Poitier is brilliant.
