One story I could've done without. Let's hope it's vanilla.

Perhaps they picked up on Peter's comments about never having seen it, and decided sooner rather than later was a good idea. Will be interesting to find out what he thinks of it.

Hmm, even I have to admit that that's an odd choice so soon. It's got some original concepts and some unusual imagery, but... it is a bit dull.
Maybe Burt Kwouk can liven up the commentary, though.

Doesn't bother me - as with so many DW stories I don't have a copy and haven't seen it for about 15 years so it'll be like watching it for the first time!
I am aware of it's reputation but I always have an open mind with these types of stories.

Why the negativity? It means another Davison/Fielding commentary, the story isn't as bad as people say and it is another of those special DVDs which you don't have to buy if you don't want to.
Dennis, Francois, Melba and Smasher are competing to see who can wine and dine Lola Whitecastle and win the contract to write her memoirs. Can Dennis learn how to be charming? Can Francois concentrate on anything else when food is on the table? Will Smasher keep his temper under control?
If only the 28th century didn't keep popping up to get in Dennis's way...

But, on the plus side, it has wonderful sets, and has the amazing scene where Tegan displays her hitherto unsuspected skills as a fashion designer, and the one where Tegan and Adric argue and somehow Adric knocks himself out! I love that one! No it's not great, but I'm not getting drawn into the whinging about every DVD release that comes out. Again.

I've only seen it twice or thrice and can remember very little apart from wanting to kill myself whilst it was on. Davison's performance is certainly different to the rest of his era and the sets are nice but it's so so slow and awful. Didn't someone once say it was like an episode of Blue Peter pretending to be Doctor Who?

It's going to be a £2.99 affair for me.

Stratford Johns gives a great performance as Monarch. And if there's any budget to improve the effects, 42Dmsday deserves it!
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

It's the second story I saw on its original broadcast, so (as with all that season in fact) I don't mind it at all.

I quite like it
I must be quite an unusual Dr Who fan because I really don't give a toss about what stories they release on dvd. If its a story I like then I might buy if not then I won't. Whenever any are reduced in sales and the like I might pick up a couple but I don't ever feel disappointed or angry about any of the releases. That only happens if you are obsessive about buying everything as it comes out as far as I can see. If you're unhappy splashing out £15 for Four To Doomsday, then don't. Buy it later or get something else.
Or am I missing something?

Exactly and at the moment there's still some classics to look forward to.
With the videos it became quite miserable because all the crap was released at the end.
