The Spice Girls were all worth a pop.

Rather annoyingly, my tape ran out just before Alesha's showdance - and the Spice Girls for that matter.

Obviously, though, I'm delighted with the result, and it was the right result, even if Matt, to be fair, did run her very close throughout the final (I even thought his showdance was slightly the better of the two).

But I think Alesha has deserved it pretty much from the off, and she's won a lot of new fans, including myself, with her charm, enthusiasm, humour, exuberance, good looks, and sheer talent. Well done, love!

Melanie C's hat is illegal in several nations.

I saw the final 'coz i was at my folks'. The Spices looked fit. All but one.

Well spotted. Serves me right for having two windows open.

She looks a bit uncomfortable, there. Someone needs to help her out of that top.

I think Dave might faint if he sees the Kelly Brook beach shots from yesterday's Sun/Star/Mirror/Mail/etc, etc...

A google search for "Daily Mail Kelly Brook" should do the trick.

You've got to admire how The Daily Perv just slip a couple of topless shots in halfway down the page. None of this Sun-styleee "Click Here For Exclusive Slideshow" pap.

Once again, The Daily Mail looks set to be The Pervhound's Choice this year.

I've just made yoghurt at the thought of Christine Bleakley's lovely legs on show every Saturday night.

Don Warrington and Phil Daniels should be fun, though I reckon Rachel Stevens, Jodie Kidd or one of the sportsmen could be favourites.

Do you always produce dairy-based products at times of excitement Dave?

If it's fruit, does that count as getting your five a day? Or am I just hopelessly confused now?

One a day is enough for most blokes, yet alone five!

Indeed - have too many Activias all at once and they play havoc with your digestive system.

    Anyway...

    IT'S BACK!!!

    Thoughts from the first show:

    - Austin Healey and the obligatory bloke off 'Casualty' or 'Holby City' (can't remember which) look early favourites.
    - Did you see Ola in that catsuit?
    - Andrew Castle and Mark Foster could do quite well too - especially if Castle's partner, Ola, wears anything else like that catsuit.
    - Gary Rhodes was crap and probably deserved to go rather than Phil Daniels.
    - Did you see Ola in THAT catsuit!?
    - John Sergeant did surprisingly well, and deserved to go through - though I wonder how he'll cope with the faster dances.
    - Hmm, that catsuit...
    - Of the female celebrities, Rachel Stevens and Lisa Snowdon look like contenders, Cherie Lunghi and Gillian Taylforth could do well for the older birds, Christine Bleakley could be a very cheeky contender, while Jodie Kidd doesn't look as good as I thought she might.
    - The new professionals, Kristina and Hayley, are rather easy on the eye.
    - Did I mention Ola in that catsuit!?

That's my Saturday night viewing sorted until Christmas!
