Mistletoe, wine & cheap lousy faggots
And so this is December, and it's time to play those festive tracks that people love or hate. There's an A-Z on the Hits Channel right now, and I've already been playing my three disc set.
So which Christmas songs do you like or loathe? What would be on your compilation?

I love Fairytale of New York, I don't particularly like or dislike any of the others, though one or two may have blipped off of my musical radar to protect my sanity.
Actually, blipping back in to radar range, I don't like Wham's Last Christmas, which Treena happens to love and play each Christmas.Last edited by Paul Clement; 2nd Dec 2006 at 11:29 PM.

Billie Piper did a nice "Last Christmas" as a b-side back in 1998.

The Manics' version of 'Last Christmas' is great.
I'd have to nominate Greg Lake's 'I Believe In Father Christmas' - great Yuletide prog.
A lot of people rave about Kate Bush's 'December Will Be Magic Again' but I must admit I've never heard it, and it never appears on compilations. Am I missing out?

It's memorable, although it's a bit of a 'slow-burner' I think - I hated it first time I heard it, but now rather like it. Elton John's "Cold as Christmas in the Middle of the Year" (which may, or may not, be the title to the song which contains that line) is the same, but I like that one too.
I also rather like the catchy "Senor Santa Claus" but I can't find it on any of m'tapes.

Some good choices there.
Of course faggots are allowed. They're just meaty balls. Er....

I hate them all. There are no exceptions.
Unless you count that time when Kylie was on TOTP in her santa outfit.
