I didn't say "The War Games" was replacing it. I said SOMETHING might be, and you said it could be "The War Games".

Well, let's think of all the Doctor Who "Something Special"s that could be in the 45th anniversary slot.
The Key to Time...no, that's already out.
Trial of a Time Lord...no, that's already announced.
Hmm...all of Season 24? no, that'd just be cruel.
Maybe the entire new series so far? No, there'd be no point unless there was an extra three discs of extras.
The BBC announces that it's actually had copies of all the missing episodes all along?
No, that's just too stupid.
The discovery of a complete version of The Daleks' Masterplan?
Could be.
Or The War Games, being the DWM most wanted DVD release, to celebrate 45 years of Doctor Who, is released to the joy of Who fans all over the world.
You know it makes sense. For every fail, there is an equal and opposite win.

Or maybe they'll not do anything as 45 is a bit of a rubbish anniversary. Is it only Doctor Who fans who think it is worth celebrating every 5 years?

It is indeed a very silly anniversary for a TV show - although I can think of one person from the BBC boards and OG who would find it cool and awesome it had hit 43 years and 267 days or something
Then again, they did do The Ice Warriors as a special for the 35th anniversary...Your people? Your people??? They are MY people now!

Seriously, what is wrong with celebrating Doctor Who's Sapphire Anniversary?
(See, it sounds more important if you say it like that.)For every fail, there is an equal and opposite win.

Wow that looks good. You know I don't collect every Doctor Who story, but The War Games is a bit of a fave.
I guess the only question is going to be how they price it - are they going to be a bit cheeky and charge around ?35 and up for it?
