Friday Poll No.31: Doctor Whoah
Pollinger Agency describes Baxter thus:
Definitely born, Baxter Sullivan describes his existence as ‘a kind of hideous waking death’. Obnoxious, bad-tempered, often ridiculous but charming nonetheless, Baxter is an asset to our glorious empire.
Baxter left school in 2001 with an A level in Graphic Design and finally got one of his cartoons, ‘Rockbot’, into a national rock magazine called Rocksound a year later. He has designed artwork for many popular bands and currently draws ‘Doctor Whoah’ cartoon for Doctor Who magazine.
It is rumoured that he never sleeps.
However, for sheer bloody awfulness, the recent addition of Baxter's sketches to the Doctor Who magazine letters page takes the biscuit. The 'jokes' will either rubbish the fans of the show, be based on a 30 year old continuity point or be simply crude - the one about Tom Baker's 'Part' being paticularly repulsive. The artwork is glossy and horrid.
I haven't found a single sketch funny. On the contrary, I've found them to be repugnant and painful to read, without charm or wit.
What do you think?Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

It's awful. The worst strip of its kind that DWM has ever had.
Si xx
I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

Eh? What? Who?
Oh. DWM. That's the end of that then.

It's bad but "Doctor Oho" was chronic as well. Bring back a good old fashioned strip cartoon, not these arty 'ironic' one frame things.
Si.

I went for somewhere in-between. The New series gags tend to be funny, but not as funny as they were, but the classic series ones are invariably unfunny and occasionally bizarre - why does McGann look like a lion? eh?

It's unspeakably awful. I'm sure it's been going a few years as well. Maybe it's some sort of tax dodge for DWM or a giving a job to someone on the staff's brother.

I thought it was only policemen who were supposed to look younger when you got older?
