Maybe it's actually aimed at families rather than kids?

Look you lot - I had to sit through a performance of Thomas and the Magic Railway at the cinema - a kind of awful, deranged American perversion of a movie. My only solace at the end was when the lights came up and all the parents looked at each other going "wtf was that about".
Believe me after that Sooty looks like Shakespeare!
And someone bought us it on DVD so it was ours to enjoy again and again ...

I seem to remember the Disney channel used to have a good range of programs on which my son loved, plus a broad range of ethnically balanced hot presenters. A bit like Playschools insidious attempt to have us all fall in love as kids with Floella Benjamin so we wouldn't grow up racist ...Remember, just because Davros is dead doesn't mean the Dalek menace has been contained ......

Broadcast begins on Saturday 3rd of April on Disney XD in the UK at 4pm and sunday 4th also at 4pm.
The first episode is on tonight, intriguingly titled 'Regeneration (Part 1 of 3)'.
Personally I'm glad I know it's the first of a three-parter. I hate getting near the end of an episode and wondering how they're going to wrap it all up in 2-3 minutes!Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

OK - apparently the episode we saw was called 'The Korven'. Hmm, not terribly up to date with my facts.
Positives:
Love the K-9 design.
And quite like the theme music.
Negatives:
Dialogue was a bit ropey.
Too much use of K-9 as a gun.
I'll give it a few episodes and see if it starts to make more sense. There were loads of characters in the first five minutes and I got rather baffled!Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

That was fine. It was a bit odd starting at episode 3 for some reason, but no matter.
I liked the K9 and Co inspired titles- the animated K9 coming together worked reeally well.
The story was OK, but will probably mean a bit more when we've seent he set up for the show as the characters obviously have some problems with both each other and themselves that I wasn't quite sure of. Hey ho.
Promising.

There was some cheeky goings-on in the Anubis episode. The Anubins had a book that showed drawings of them beating up alien races - which seemed to include Sea Devils, Alpha Centaurans and Mandrells!
This is also the episode where K-9 dons an enormous cape.Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

For those eagerly (or not) awaiting info on Five's transmission of the show... here it is:
Transmission will be spilt. The first 13 episodes will be shown on a daily basis starting on 18th December. The second batch of 13 will be shown over Easter. All 26 episodes will then be repeated during the summer holidays.

Will it get lost over Christmas week? Or will it amuse all the kiddies home from school?
YOU DECIDE. Well, actually the children will. And a small subgroup of scarf-wearing adults determined to capture this shit for posterity on DVD just in case it honks so badly that no commercial retailer will have the nerve to issue it commercially.

15th Nov 2010, 10:13 PM #87The Director of Photography on the Australian K9 series, Tony O'Loughlan, has been awarded two Bronze awards at the 2010 Queensland and Northern Territory Cinematographer Awards held in Brisbane last Saturday.
The awards were for Episode 23, Angel of the North and Episode 26, The Eclipse of the Korven.
The series, created by Bob Baker and Paul Tams, was shown on the TEN network in Australia and in Europe on the Disney XD channel. The series is due to make its terrestrial début in the UK on Five this Christmas.
A second series is currently in pre-production.
Shame that Disney XD seem not to have broadcast the two award-winning episodes, at least not as far as I can remember.

It's on daily from Sat 18th to Fri 31st inclusive according to the Radio Times, so that's 14 episodes already! Given that on most of those mornings I'm going to either be at work or at my sister's I'm not even going to try and keep up with that type of scheduling!
The listing for Thurs 23rd says "The robot feels fear." Ye-eeessss!!

Forgot about it this morning but it is available on Virgin's catch up service, so I might just try watching an episode a day in my own time and see how it goes.

You should be able to record it when you play it on Virgin. I've certainly done that on BBC programmes on catch-up.

Well, my DVD recorder is set to record whatever channel is showing on the set-top box - for example, that's how I was recording several Confidentials earlier this year when not in at the time of broadcast. I just played them on Catch Up, pressed record and away you go! Give it a try.
Mind you, having watched the first episode this morning, whether you want to record it for posterity is a point for conjecture!
