His printed thoughts on Torchwood:
This being a special "award ceremony" edition of The Guide, it would be remiss of me not to devote this week's column to some awards of my own. So, let the ceremony commence with an awkward crunch of gears, as the award for the YEAR'S MOST JARRING SHOW goes to the Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood, which somehow managed to feel like both a multi-coloured children's show and a heaving sex-and-gore bodice-ripper at the same time. The constant clash of mutually-incongruous tones meant watching it felt like stumbling across a hitherto secret episode of Postman Pat in which Pat runs down 15 villagers while masturbating at the wheel of his van. Interesting, but possibly aimed at madmen.

"ALIEN TECHNOLOGY!"
Brooker is great, but he has got a face you could happily punch all decade.

Another excellent show, loved the Victor Lewis-Smith gag, and the Tom Baker/K9 sketch from the BBC Christmas tapes!

The Review of the Year was sadly rather unfunny I thought

Really enjoyed last night's, best one for a while. I liked how he introduced the show by slapping his own face, something a lot of his critics say should be done to him.

Some good stuff in the final episode.
It returns later in the year "with a bigger budget".

Look at the making of TV, a little bit of Who, little bit of Sapphire and Steel, and a review of Primeval (better than Torchwood, indeed!) - good show
(is James Lindsay a demented clock fan? )

Compilation thingy the other day and a new series starts next Tuesday:
Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe
New Series. Charlie Brooker takes another caustic look at TV; expect irreverant observations, puerile sarcasm, and little snippets of animation. In this, the first of five episodes, the show examines the recent 'TV fakery' scandals, the The X Factor and the latest big American import - Heroes.
Tue 25 Sep, 22:00-22:30 30mins Stereo Widescreen
Charlie Brooker has been invading the BBC Four idents since Sunday (watch them HERE )

I'm a convert. I'd never seen the show before this week, and wasn't really sure if it was something I'd like. I found it was something I'd like. I was really very impressed with him and the show. Very funny, very rude, but very sharp and intelligent with it, which is a great mix!
I'll be watching again.

I think last night's was his best episode yet. The "History of Corners", Top Ten C***s and She C***s, Street Doctors and Billie's Sonic were the highlights.

He certainly chose the best candidate for top C**k, didn't they? I'd have put in the "Oh where's the phone?" guy from inbetween Sky's episodes of The Simpsons though!
