Redirect to forum or thread after making a post?
At the moment, you'll find that after you make a post on PS, it will redirect you back to the thread you've just posted to, and actually show you the post you've just made.
Now, we've been asked by a couple of members if we can change this, so that it redirects you back to the forum you're in (eg. The Crooked World) rather than the thread (eg. The Random Thread)...
What we want to know, is would you like it changed or are you happy with the way it is?
Please make your vote so we can gauge what the majority wants.

I vote 'Forum' - it's a waste of time being taken back to the thread you've just finished posting to. It's not like you'd want to post there again straight away, and you can use 'preview' to see what your post will look like.

Personally, I voted for 'Thread', as I sometimes make a mistake and I like to easily rectify it.
The majority's voice will be heard though

I like thread best. I like to make sure that it has worked and see my post in context.

Thread for sure. In case I've made a typo, so I can spot it and sort it out before anyone notices. (Usually!)
I am out there... somewhere.

Forum, as usually I use the preview to spot any typos.

Thread for me, like Nathan, I like to see it in context, and also you sometimes see that somebody has just made a reply before you saying something the same, or that changes what you wanted to say.

Thread - i always check what i've written and whether others have posted something just before me (i.e. in the questions thread) so that i can make any adjustments to my post if needed.

Thread please - I've had a couple of "Oh, and another thing..." and "Does that read right?" moments lately.

Thread!
I normally have to correct spelling mistakes and grammatical errors at least once...
edit: even during this two line post I've had to do that! :-)Last edited by Alex; 22nd Dec 2006 at 4:07 PM.

I'm not too bothered, but I prefer forum. The good thing about thread though, is that by being forced to use your 'back' button you never get that many pages in your browser history. If you were previously on a site you wish to return to, you need only click back a few times to get back there.

I prefer returning to the thread for all the aforementioned reasons.

What I hate most about it going into the thread is the fact that there is then only one way to link back to the page of the forum you are posting to, and that's to scroll right the way to the top of the page and click on the very small type link to it. Either that, or back click three or four times and then click refresh. I'm finding this very tiring to do either way, considering it has to be done every single time you post.

Or just scroll down a teeny bit, and on the right hand side below 'Quick Reply' there's the forum jump box, so just click Go on that

Yes thanks Pip, I'll have to get used to doing it now. The good thing is, the forum you are on is the default 'Go To', so you usually just have to click the Go button.
Incidentally, does everyone realised that you can click on 'Currently Active Users' at the bottom and get a screen which shows you which thread everyone who is on-line is reading or posting to. How cool is that?
