Subnetting = Aaargh!
Hi,
To summarise:
College course, love it, Cisco (which is apart of the College course), 'tis ok, we're now onto Chapter 4, Semester 2, which is on Subnetting.
And It is driving me completley up the wall. Cos virtually everything in Cisco is new to us, and I've been able to grasp the concepts of stuff, understand what it's about etc, and then I come to subnetting... I can't even begin to grasp what the feck it's about (it's all Gallifreyan to me )... is there anyone on here who can offer any advice or a simple explanation as to what it's about etc? I'd be most greatful.

Subnetting, or CIDR (Classless Inter Domain Routing)?
http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=cidr
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classle...Domain_Routing
As well as those two links I'd also suggest http://www.tcpipguide.com/free/t_Int...ion4IPIPv4.htm. Start at that page and work your way through the next set of pages (skip over bits if they aren't relevant). Start reading when you find a page you don't understand .
I'm afraid that I could go into subnetting, but I wouldn't be ale to do it the justice that the previous sites do.Assume you're going to Win

Thanks Phil, I'll have a look at them later, when I'm at least half awake.
