Yes, excellent news. That set looks really good. A lot of people have been waiting so long for this, including myself. This will be something to look forwards to in the long winter months this year.

Is the restoration for these do we know?
These are being snapped up! Even if I have to sell the house!

There is some restoration for this, though not as extensive as the Dr. Who discs we're used to, but it should look good nevertheless.
As far as I was aware only snippets of the early episode, Hot Snow, existed, that would have needed some restoration surely. The episodes I'm looking forward to seeing on this set are Girl On A Trapeze (which I maybe have never seen), and The Frighteners, which I have on an old off air VHS from years ago, and which is a corker of an episode.

I'm not that up to speed on The Avengers, so I'm intrigued by the statement, "The surviving Ian Hendry episodes" there. I thought only the Stratford Johns episode (The Frighteners) was known to exist - have some others turned up?

I spurted £26 on the Dutch Series 2 & The Frighteners set back in March and still haven't watched it!

Yay that's brilliant news, and about time too

I believe that one other Hendry episode has turned up, Andrew, but to be honest I'm not sure exactly which one it is, although it's possibly the aforementioned 'Girl On A Trapeze'
Excellent news that this set is finally on it's way at last. It's been a long wait but it looks like being a worthwhile one.
Roll on the first Emma Peel season...the best Avengers season ever, imo
Edited to add:
I've just done a quick search and it is indeed the 'Girl...' episode which was discovered (as long ago as 2001!)

We also have four original colour caption cards courtesy of Leonard White (one of which is for Police Surgeon) and via his scrapbooks, over 1100 telesnaps (approx 80 per episode) from 14 different Hendry episodes and a similar amount for the Honor Blackman episodes he produced

It's not bad value actually for 5 boxed sets in one. I hope the defective discs have been replaced for this re-release. I might be tempted if they have.
Dennis, Francois, Melba and Smasher are competing to see who can wine and dine Lola Whitecastle and win the contract to write her memoirs. Can Dennis learn how to be charming? Can Francois concentrate on anything else when food is on the table? Will Smasher keep his temper under control?
If only the 28th century didn't keep popping up to get in Dennis's way...
