It's a mix of search engine crawlers (checking the forums/site) and just plain lurkers.

Most users ever online was 57, Yesterday at 02:37 PM.
When I saw that yesterday, there was currently 54 online. I think 13 of the 54 were members...Last edited by Jeff; 5th Jan 2007 at 6:59 PM.

Yeah, I read that the first time you posted it. Doesn't mean I can't gawk at the numbers.

Because they're not people, they're web crawlers!

Yes. But they're programs, they don't have the ability to read a book or go down to the pub.

Well, it seems to log me out after about 10 minutes if I haven't posted, so if it's doing it for others that would bump up the guest count.

I have to re-sign sometimes, presumably for the same reason.
We'll know for certain whether there's any web crawlers about when the membership list includes www.google.com/webbot-trendy_wirrn.Last edited by Stuart Wallis; 7th Jan 2007 at 2:25 PM.

Make you sure you click 'Remember Me' and you shouldn't have many problems with re-logins.

I have to admit, I was surprised at how easy it was to view the site when I first arrived. I remember the old PS, where you had to apply for membership, and there was a distinct lack of lurkers back then, which kept the more private thoughts and comments of the users nicely protected.
Anyone can have a mooch now...I'm glad I've got nowt to hide!Stand up and fight, and I'll stand up with you!
