Revisitations 1 DVD Set - October 2010
Not much deatil on this yet, but there's going to be a set of new versions of previously released DVDs with new extras etc on them.
What do we think of that then?

Well, some of the older releases could do with being tarted up, looking as they do like the poorer cousins of the range these days. However, without much detail of what's going to be released and what's going to be different about them it's hard to say too much.
I guess that Remembrance was a 'testing the water' release to see if anyone would buy such a re-release.
Could we see a VidFIREd Tomb after all...?

I'd have thought a VidFired Tomb was a shoe in for the box, and Louise Jameson said she'd recorded a commentary for Robots of Death a wgile back too, so that's probably likely too.

My immediate thoughts are:
1) Will it be Amarays in a slipcase or a digipack?
2) Will the original DVDs be deleted? (Tomb seems difficult to find anyway)
3) How much are they going to charge? The extras would have to be pretty good/extensive for me to double-dip.

I don't know why they wouldn't be in an Amaray.
I'm fine if it's "Tomb", "Robots" and (at a push) "Talons", but I'll be annoyed if they're re-issuing perfectly fine DVD's with one extra feature. I don't know if "Androzani" (which I've heard rumoured) was all that bad to start with?
However, if they came out and said that such releases were to fund a colour "Mind of Evil" restoration or an animated "Macra Terror", I'd gladly buy them all.

The people who animated The Invasion left Cosgove Hall ages ago, so I don't think the company's fate has any bearing on it. The cost is more likely to be a significant factor.

Could the Movie end up being re-issued? Because that'd be great.
For every fail, there is an equal and opposite win.

was actually just going to mention that one as long as it's the usual lot of extras on them i'll not mind at all
the stories that were released with out the usual package of extras are
Robots of Death
Tomb of the Cybermen
Ark in Space
Spearhead from Space
Carnival of Monsters
Caves of Andrazani
Vengance on Varos
The tv movie

People keep mentioning Caves and although it hasn't got a making of documentary I think it still had a pretty good set of extras really. Same with Carnival- since half of its cast is dead it's difficult to see what else they could add to it really. IMO, of course

They could CGI Puff the Magic Dragon in the exterior ship scenes.

It IS a very darkly lit story, that may have contributed.

The new DWM confirms this box set will be released during 2010 and will feature The TV Movie - it will have new extras, including an Ed Stradling documentary called The Seven Year Hitch with a lot of the key players (Alan Yentob, Philip Segal, Matthew Jacobs).

You should go back in time to when it did work.
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

I think Shada needs to take his DVD back to before it played, maybe even back to before it arrived....

Oh, the witty quips.
But no, the thing is, it only doesn't work on my PC. It just refuses to recognise the disc (all my other Who DVDs work fine). It works in the television downstairs fine, but that's only in black and white. For every fail, there is an equal and opposite win.

The DWM 200 poll has nowt to do with this. I think the three stories in the set are all justifiable for re-issue, I mean there's no Invisible Enemy amongst them! Plus they've all been out for a wee while.

So what are the other two stories in the set, then?
