Time-Space Visualiser: The DW YouTube thread
It's a Doctor Who You Tube thread! Surely it should be called Who-Tube?
Anyway, that's enough of that, here's a guy talking about Doctor Who toys. Specifically, the new Jon Pertwee Two-packs. More specifically, the Sea Devil and 'Death To The Daleks' Dalek that come with the two Jon Pertwees. Can he make it last ten minutes? Can he?

Oh yes he can!
If I would say anything, he could do with brighter lighting. And to be fair, despite stretching out for 10 minutes, he doesn't run out of things to say. Good effort!Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

It's exactly the same as Tom's costume-change scene.
I can't believe the Doctor would go around in a costume that the Rani described as 'very elegant'. I can't believe that the Rani described the Doctor's jumper as 'very elegant'.Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

For all its complete nonsensicalness (yes, yes, I'm sure that's a word) I do love that scene. I quite often use "pretentious is the word" when talking to myself in fact!
And as Rob says, it's a nick from Robot so it's hardly "JN-T ruins Who" or anything like that!

The only bit I don't like is the cheap way McCoy wears his checky trousers for all the costumes. Was there not time/the right size for him to wear anything else?
Oh and thank heavens he dropped the awful braces over the jumper business.

I do think the scene is a little more self-conscious than the one in Robot as it involves him trying on previous Doctors' costumes. The exact equivalent would have been Tom Baker dressing up in copies of his three predecessors' clothes. So the programme is directly referring to itself in a different way.
Although I do like the irony that the only reason for the Seventh Doctor's costume remaining as it does is because the Rani happened to get impatient with the options he was choosing at that particular instant. I wonder what he'd have been wearing if she'd waited for just one more change?

Colin tried on Jon's jacket- I suppose it's just one step further on.
And anyway if you want CBBC-esque stuff what about Troughton in the foam in Seeds of Death, what about Pertwee pulling faces when people keep walking into his lab in Invasion of the Dinos or Tom possessing the Key to Time. There are plenty of rubbish or childish moments in Doctor Who.

That's made by a friend of mine. His TARDIS renderings are particularly good too.

The comment on Youtube about making the Dalek colour is a valid one - it looks good at the moment, and is very smoothly done, but colouring in the Dalek would really finish it off convincingly.
