Wanted: Software...
To make a video clip run backwards, or go in slow motion. Surely there's something?

Can't you slow it down in Windows Movie Maker? I'm not sure on the running backwards - sometimes I need to do that with my stop motion, and the only way I've learned to do it is insert the stop motion frames in backwards - which doesn't really help!

Not sure, I've never used Windows Movie Maker... is it a basic function (slo mo) or is there a trick to it?

I used AVS video editor - which isn't free, because I tend to find Windows Movie Maker dies on me a lot. But I believe they have similar functionality. In my stop motion videos I tend to record a "talking loop" for a character, and kind of speed up/slow down to match the dialogue.
Damn - just had a play and it's not there in Windows Movie Maker - although there is a good portion of what you get in AVS video editor - and it's free.
