    Default Happy Anniversary! 46 years!

As well as being the first day on the new Planet Skaro, it's also of course the 43rd anniversary of the beginning of Doctor Who! Hooray!

Are you the kind of fan that's always celebrated the anniversary? Have you sat down at 5.15 and watched An Unearthly Child? What have you done to celebrate the anniversary down the years?

    Si xx

    Default Happy Anniversary 43 Years.

Si, you and I seem to be on the same wavelength this morning, I've just started the very same thread in "The Original Series" board. Feel free to move it/delete, if that's at all possible.

Anyway, happy anniversary Doctor, I would love to sit down this afternoon at 5-15 but I have to be in work early today, so I shall have to find time over the weekend to celebrate.

I've deleted the other thread, Steve, although I think it's worth posting here what you posted there:

"43 years young today, Happy Birthday Doctor Who, that British Institution we all love so much, created by the BBC and still going strong today, and more popular than ever. Long may it continue to entertain and enthrall us, no matter how old we are."

Says it all really doesn't it!

And who'd have thought we'd be here with a wonderful new series, the show being one of the most popular on UK TV? Just a few years ago, that whole idea seemed really unlikely!

    Happy Anniversary!

Of course, it's also the 23rd anniversary of "Silver Nemesis" but we won't dwell on that...

Alas, at 5:15 today I shall be stripping down an espresso machine so will have no time to watch Doctor Who. However, tonight I might watch "The Aztecs" to celebrate, in place of my usual marathon through Next Gen. Is that okies?

    I am out there... somewhere.

What? Have I been asleep for five years or something...?

Edited to add that I've just noticed Iain has already cleared that one up. My first post on the new PS and I make a prat of myself. Oops.

43 years apart from Coronation Street and Grandstand there are no other British tv shows that are still going after so long..

    Default Happy anniversary Doctor

    Cheers Andrew

We all have cause to celebrate today, this show has made us all happy through the years, from those of us who were in (almost) from the beginning, to the new fans who are enjoying David Tennent, I for one am glad to see the show so successful, and gathering awards too. Isn't it Fantastic.

I'm watching The Girl In The Fireplace. Wonderful episode, the highlight being Murray Gold's soundtrack. Emotional stuff.

You're quite right of course Logo (nice avatar by the way) I don't know what I was thinking. I think I'd better hand in my badge for mathematical excellence...

That's very charitable of you, Jeff, but the truth is, I was just completely wrong - that'll teach me to be doing mental arithmetic BEFORE my first coffee of the day...

Shada Pavlova returns from the depths of the archives, undamaged by the Vashta Nerada, trailing old anniversary threads in his wake

    So this November will see:

45 (Glorious) years of Doctor Who.
    20 years of Silver Nemesis.
25 years of The Five Doctors.
35 years of The Three Doctors.
200 years since Thomas Cook was born. (22 Nov 1808)
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!
