The Best Doctor Who Poems In The Universe?
http://www.gjbpublishing.co.uk/drwhopoems.html
This is a new release from GJB publishing, compiled by Garry Vaux and promises to be a 'unique collection of prime poetry and amazing artwork'.
'Fans from around the globe had submitted poems about the Doctor, the Master, Cybermen, Sarah Jane, Donna, K9, Rose as well as what it's like being a Doctor Who fan.'
It's available on their website for £4.99.
So what do you think? Bizarre curio, or is the prospect of Doctor Who poetry something that's been overlooked? We've had books, audio plays and art, but poems are a lot thinner on the ground.

My quest is the quest to cover the whole of Doctor Who in haiku form never quite made it out of the Pertwee era.
Dennis, Francois, Melba and Smasher are competing to see who can wine and dine Lola Whitecastle and win the contract to write her memoirs. Can Dennis learn how to be charming? Can Francois concentrate on anything else when food is on the table? Will Smasher keep his temper under control?
If only the 28th century didn't keep popping up to get in Dennis's way...

I notice a creeping sense of desperation sneaking in around Season 11:
Planet of the Spiders
Know your inner self
Face your fear (e.g. spiders)
Or some such bollocks
Clancey the cowboy
In a tale about pirates
That doesn’t make sense

Pah! I've written the perfect Dr Who poem.
It's about the relationship between the Doctor and the audience. I might have posted it before on this thread, but here seems the perfect place!
YOU ARE THE GREATEST DOCTOR WHO COMPANION
You are the greatest companion
That Doctor Who never had
He can never thank you in person
And you can never interact
You are the greatest companion
You see the nightmares being born
You know where enemies hiding
But The Doctor you can never warn?
You are the greatest companion
That Doctor who never had
And you do it with both feet on the ground
as a viewer of the alien nomad
You are the greatest companion
That Doctor Who never had
He can never hear your tedium
And you can never change the plot
You are the greatest companion
Some of us have travelled with him before some were born?
But The Doctor has been a family member
And after all, it's just a dumb British show?
You are the greatest companion
That Doctor Who never had
And there will still be Doctor Who
When I mourn the death of you
And all the Doctor Who
After I'm dead...

Couldn't resist a poem-off
Daleks
The greatest enemy the Doctor faced
Confronting the mechanical Dalek race
With a voice that grates
And screams Ex-ter-min-ate
They're a tin-can army
Of a creator gone quite barmy
Propelled by pure driven hate
Copyright Nation Estate
Beware! Be scared!
You can hide up stairs
Til in Remembrance we discovered
They had abilities to hoverRemember, just because Davros is dead doesn't mean the Dalek menace has been contained ......
