In a similar vein, I rewatched The Christmas Invasion this morning - I'd forgotten how much fun it is. It's also easy to forget just how exciting and 'revolutionary' it was back in the day - just when you think it's over, we not only get a song, we also get an all-too exciting selection of clips. Sarah Jane!! K9!! And then we even got the middle-eight back in the end titles!!!
Next weekend, although not strictly speaking a Christmas special, I'm planning to watch The Unquiet Dead. For shame!

The Invisible Enemy, because I've never been paticualy fond of this story it's been sitting on my shelf unwatched ever since the dvd was released back in 2008. but the other day I finally decided to watch it. and have to say despite it's cheapness it's not as bad as I thought it was.
this last week i've also watched
The Invasion
Bad Wolf
Parting of the Ways
The Christmas Invasion
Army of Ghosts
Doomsday
Human Nature
Family of Blood

Kind of inspired by last weekend's exciting news, I watched part 2 of The Dalek Masterplan today - I think we must have had a new TV since I last watched it, as I'd never noticed before how still very grainy the episode is EXCEPT for the 'Dalek Inferno' film sequences which are just beautifully clear.
Good episode though, really enjoyed it. Question, does anybody know whether it was really Hartnell dressed up as Zephon in the latter part of the episode? He only bows a bit and doesn't say anything, so it could have been anybody.

The Unquiet Dead. It feels oddly dated, but in a cosy way - the carriage scene still makes me laugh, and the "My books, do they last?" scene is still very moving. Fantastic, as that guy used to say.

We just did the first two episodes of The Abominable Snowmen this evening... Whitney struggled with them, I rather enjoyed them!
It's looking like this will be a rather busy week, so who knows when we'll get round to doing the rest!

Episode 3 (I think) - A Battle of Half-Wits.

I was ill yesterday and the story of choice was 'The Sea Devils'. I noticed that it had excellent sets, paticularly the sea-fort and submarine. The Sea Devil base itself was slightly less excellent. Also, the first half of the story is entirely about The Master in prison, while the second half is about the Sea Devils.

I don't know about you, but violent excercise always makes me hungry... it also makes me have a flashback to a party I went to a few months ago!

I'm ill today and have also gone down the Pertwee 6 parter route, and am watching The Green Death.

The Invisible Enemy has been a festive treat this evening. It's not as bad as its reputation suggests. Yes the prawn is just silly, but up to that point its good fun!

I was actually quite scared by the prawn when I first saw it (in my defence I was 7 years old!)

This morning before I'd even got dressed (too much detail?) I'd polished off all the extras on Earthshock (didn't realise Grimwade was so unpopular, and rather amusing to spot a pre-new Who Moffat pop up as just another talking head) and the Serial Thrillers documentary on Pyramids of Mars, PLUS Part 1 of Pyramids of Mars, a story which I have a feeling I've not seen in full in about 12 years (could be more!)
