Two Missing Episodes Recovered!
Allegedly some very exciting news is expected to be unveiled at this afternoon's Missing Believed Wiped at the BFI.
Still awaiting confirmation but my understanding is that Doctor Who fans can expect at least 2 reasons to be celebrating Christmas early this year!

I was going to say knowing our luck it'll be a better quality episode of something we've already got, but thought again.
Any idea what time the announcement will be made? Is it ok if I set myself up for disappointment by hoping for an episode like part 4 of The Tenth Planet, or something else that completes a story? Maybe the surviving episodes of The Ice Warriors?
Those are my favourites to be found, so I await the disappointment to come by teatime.

DW magazine just tweeted to say their next tweet would be VERY exciting. Could this be linked to this thread??

It's a wonderful Christmas present for Doctor Who fans, and hope that there will always be more left to find!

Hmmmn.
Much as I hope this is an announcement of two newly-discovered episodes, it would be very strange for that to have happened without news of it breaking out all along the grapevine - and very very surprising for two whole episodes to have turned up at all.
So I wonder if instead it's an announcement about animated episodes completing partially missing stories for DVD? Both The Tenth Planet and The Ice Warriors must be due just such an announcement, and that would be two reasons to celebrate...
I just hope I'm wrong!

I can't definitely vouch for the accuracy but have read that it's Galaxy Four episode 3 and Underwater Menace episode 2.

Random rumour on Twitter:
The Underwater Menace Part two and Galaxy 4 part three...
No idea as to its authenticity.

Seemingly confirmed (unofficially) by people in attendance...
And happy to be wrong!!!!!

No way, really? If true, I can only echo the opinion of eccentric scientist Dr Who, when he said, "Most exciting!"

It'd be nice to think sooner rather than later, wouldn't it - maybe as part of the already-announced 'Shada and bits & pieces' collection?
It'll be interesting to hear where they've come from though.

Shockingly lazy journalism from Doctor Who On-Line- "Two lost stories found".
EPISODES. Not stories.

Radio Times Article detailing the condition of both episodes.
I absolutely love Galaxy 4, it's probably the missing audio release that I listen to the most, apart from Marco Polo. So I am very happy at this find. Nice to have some more Troughton too.
Edited to add: Maybe the recon that 2|e made of G4 might now see the light of day too?“If my sons did not want wars, there would be none.” - Gutle Schnaper Rothschild

I wonder if Underwater Menace might be the 'on the shelf' animation Dan Hall referred to in SFX? (It wasn't 10th Planet or Ice Warriors; both of those two will already be either planned or in production.)
