The Claws of Axos SE - 22nd October 2012
Well, this has appeared on Play.com: http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/33787...ngDetails.html
I think it's probably safe to say that there'll be another revisitation this year! Given the rather poor picture quality in parts of the original DVD, I'm not overly surprised.
It'll be interesting to see what new extras we might get with it..

I'm a sucker for having the best possible picture quality, so this is tentitively fine by me...
But it does rather feel like they are ushering in a situation of us buying the DVD's all over again!

I'd forgotten but the Restoration Team did mention this release at Utopia back in May. From my understanding as I heard the announcement second hand because I was helping elsewhere they have been able to do a much better clean-up of the picture than the original release.
That said having only watched this not that long ago I won't be rushing out to buy it again.

I don't remember the picture quality being that bad, and since two of the episodes are in the original format anyway, this seems a bit of a liberty. I'm guessing, then, they're putting this out because the original release didn't have a making of documentary, right? A careless oversight on several DVDs which they getting round to rectifying, perhaps in a bid to extend the releases...

I think I'll wait for this one to go cheap.
I've just got my handcuffs and my truncheon and that's enough.

But that's exactly what Axos represents, my good man! Cheap energy for the whole world!
Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

I'm actually looking forward to this one! When we watched it last week , we definitely thought that the quality was a bit dodgy. Definitely looking forward to a further restored version

You see he's caught in a time loop, a figure of eight going round and round the same points... just like the releases of this story on DVD.
