Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

It's probably all the designs for the characters and settings and stuff, plus the images used for the postcards given away at the time too.

Especially as none of them will likely include REG or Jacobi.

That's so cute. Though of course, for the UK release we shouldn't get Richard E Grant listed as a 'Doctor' with 'The Richard E Grant' years and his face in a little circle. That would be wrong. WRONG.

To be fair they dragged it out for 6 weeks on the website and we tuned in every time. Can't remember enjoying this one as much as Shada though.
He'll get his 'year' though won't he? 2003 was it?
Oh blimey it's a decade old...Pity. I have no understanding of the word. It is not registered in my vocabulary bank. EXTERMINATE!

Crikey, yes - it's about 10 years ago round about now. I think Shalka can be summed up in that it was the first new BBC-produced Who of any sort in nearly a decade... and still hardly anybody liked it!! (Although it did get better as it went on - in a perverse sort of way I'm quite looking forward to the DVD!)

We put it on DVD and watched it a short time ago. It's an awful, awful story. It's awful in subtle ways of awfulness; it's everything Doctor Who shouldn't be - boring, dull, pompous, unengaging. It's just... awful.
Si.

That's what I said at the time. It was a real misstep, the worst thing being the way the Doctor comes over. In many ways he's like the real Ninth Doctor, only terribly unlikeable & snobbish, and played by an actor who clearly didn't care about the role at all. I'm so glad we never heard from this incarnation again.

It'll sell because REG was in the series recently; because the BBC will send out execution squads; and because fans are bonkers.

Of course, it does bring back slightly awkward memories of being quite critical about it while Paul Cornell was on the Forum...
