2007 Budget.
What will the Budget do for you?
Was there anything in it to help/hinder you?
Are you better off or worse?
Tell all & have a good moan about it here.

As long as they don't tax DVDs, I'm happy.

I don't have kids.
I'm not retired.
I'm not married.
I just go to work every day and pay lots of taxes.
Therefore I will get absolutely nothing out of the budget, although I will probably get heavily taxed for daring to drive to work every day.

Actually that last post makes me seem a bit bitter and sour. I'm not really bothered - I don't really WANT anything off the State, I'm happy going about my business. It would be nice if they left me alone as far as taxing the things I spend my money on however.

Was just trying to work out if my car came under the gas-guzzling heading but the pricing on the DVLA website is really complicated.

It'll depend on your income, but I suspect a lot of people will be worse off income tax wise - the 22% band will now be only 20%, but at the same time there's no 10% band, so the 20% applies as soon as you hit your tax-free limit. At a rough stab, I reckon if you're paying tax on 13,000 or less per annum then you'll be worse off.
Still, I'm glad I never bought that 4 x 4 now!!!

Well, the BBCi calculator makes me out to be 60.22 a year better off, but then I don't drive, don't smoke and drink very sparingly. If I get a life, the whole lot'll be wiped out at a stroke.
