Haven't watched it much recently. Bring back Suranne Jones!

I think:
1. The storyline is a GOOD thing.
2. Stretching out the 'revelation' over five weeks is not.
3. There should have been chuff and willy on display in the bed scene.
4. You cannot disguise a heavily pregnant woman just by wrapping her in a fur coat.

Watched some of it tonight.....poor I thought.
As for the whole storyline, when the (new) Baldwins first arrived on the street (in their first scene together), I remember saying "The mum's going to have an affair with the son, isn't she?".....get me a script-writing job!“If my sons did not want wars, there would be none.” - Gutle Schnaper Rothschild

Some decent stuff from Walsh, but Stephenson was as piss-poor as ever. She's still got one of the most annoying voices on UK TV. Staring at her Mega Baby Boobies isn't enough to ease the pain.

Is it wrong that I half enjoy her having cancer??

Rather spookily, whilst visiting my friend's grandad in hospital last night, we happened to walk past Bruce Jones aka Les Battersby himself in a corridor... I politely smiled at him as he walked past, but it was obvious he was going to see someone ill.
Was it Cilla, my dad asked?

I think the cancer storyline has been really well handled, and played in considered fashion by Wendi Peters. She hasn't decided that because Cilla has Cancer she's suddenly "nice" - she's still the same as ever she was ("I wish I was having an affair!") just now she has all this to cope with. I'm going to be hooked on this storyline.

Watching Bruce Jones trying to act in Wednesday's episode was the funniest thing on ITV1 primetime for at least fifteen years.

Les Battersby on Cilla 'dying' of cancer:
"I've got to carry on! - You're alright!"
He's a bloody hero isn't he?

I have to say that i don't watch Corrie for the brilliant acting, but i do find it mostly entertaining. (unlike a certain BBC1 'flagship' soap i could mention!) Les' character always makes me laugh!

The last few episodes of Corrie have contained some of the finest comedy we'll see on UK TV this year. Comedy Gold from Kate "I have to say Charlie at the end of every sentence whilst grinning at the camera" Ford, Anne "I love to wear clothes that draw attention to my turkey neck/beer gut" Kirkbride and Julia "Sounds as if my voice is breaking halfway through every line" Haworth. Those two police officers are like something out of Police Squad. Some cracking knowing looks/raised eyebrows during the interviews. Tracy's sexy dancing on Friday night topped the lot of them, though. I wet my pants!
At least we had a little bit of Harkishin Magic in Monday's episodes.
Edited to add: Has the "Free Tracy Barlow!" campaign been started yet?Last edited by Milky Tears; 16th Jan 2007 at 12:26 AM.

Prisoner Cell Block H was mentioned in Corrie the other night.
The legend lives on.
Yeah those cops were quite funny. The sheer size of Kate Ford's maw like mouth still gives me nightmares. Charlie could've parked his van in her gob, & still not scratched it on her teeth.

18th Jan 2007, 9:41 AM #18Coronation Street registered its highest ratings in two years on Monday night.
The first episode of the night, in which Tracy Barlow killed Charlie Stubbs, averaged 12.3 million viewers. The same number returned for the second installment a half hour later, when Barlow was charged with Stubbs' murder. The peak audience of the two episodes was 13.1 million.
In comparison, Monday night's episode of EastEnders attracted only 9.4 million viewers.

It's just a shame all three major soaps are doing murder storylines at once. It's very tiresome. I'm sure murder never happened in soaps at one point.

Is it just me, or is Corrie a bit average at the moment?
I'm still interested in the Tracy Barlow storyline, & am curious to see what David 'demon spawn' Platt will do, but the rest........
And the Connor's are a really boring lot!Last edited by Wayne; 2nd Feb 2007 at 11:46 AM.

I agree the Connors are boring, though Jane Danson is on the wind to liven them up.
The Tracey Barlow storyline is still good, but it's the main thing isn't it - as long as it's still got fuel, that's what's keeping it good. I quite like Kelly in the cafe as well, I find her interesting to watch.
Also there's rather a saucy 'bisexual love triangle' storyline coming up between three established characters (not Betty).
